FAR HORIZON was seen to be a 44’ length hard chine, semi-displacement motor cruiser built by Vrijbuiter of Holland in 1991. The vessel layout consisted of a foredeck with side decks leading past the living accommodation to the aft deck. A bridge deck was positioned above the main saloon area.

The interior of the vessel consisted of a double berth with heads compartment in the forepeak. Aft of the forepeak is the main saloon, galley and navigation / helm area. The aft accommodation consisted of a double bed, various storage lockers, a heads compartment and shower / sink compartment.

The vessel was of all welded construction and the hull bottom and hull sides were built from a nominal 8mm mild steel plate. The plate seams were butt welded with flush seams and run from end to end.

The hull bottom, sides and topsides were treated with epoxy paint.

FAR HORIZON was powered by a Volvo Penta TAMD 41B six cylinder, fresh water cooled diesel engine producing 165 HP. The engine, generator, fuel & fresh water tanks and associated equipment were located under the sole boards in the main saloon area.
